Volt is immediately hiring Fabrication Associate in Chicopee, MA
As a Fabrication Associate, you will:
  • Be responsible for moving loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard.
  • Be responsible for assembling pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintaining organized work supplies.
  • Be responsible for following safety precautions when fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe.
  • Be responsible for operating powered industrial equipment in compliance with OSHA guidelines and Client's procedures.
  • Be responsible for setting up and maintaining machines used for pipe fabrication.
  • Be responsible for measuring, recording, and adding random pipe lengths accurately.
  • Be responsible for measuring and cutting pipe using band saws or torches.
  • Be responsible for threading and beveling pipe using Landis machines.
  • Be responsible for inspecting and maintaining forklift equipment.
  • Be responsible for sorting/shifting pipe ranging from ½" to 10".

This is a full time, Contract opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • 6-8 months recent machinery, band saws, automatic welding machines
  • Use and understand tape measures. Use of Gauges for quality checks
  • 6-8 months experience in mechanical background.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong math skills for calculating product quantities.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices in the pipe yard.
  • Candidates with backgrounds in auto mechanics, machinery maintenance, automotive lines, diesel, or farm equipment are encouraged to apply.

Pay Rate: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour.
