The Manufacturing Tech I is responsible for hands-on execution of all activities in themanufacturing area includingthe processing and packaging ofhumantissue products for transplantation. All duties are performed in compliance withFDA cGMP/cGTPrequirements, American Association of Tissue Banks(AATB) standards, and OsirisTherapeutics Inc. standardoperating procedures (SOPs). The candidate should have a commitment tohighstandardsof quality.

What will you be doing?

  • Follow batch production records (BPRs) and SOPs to manufacture human tissue products.

  • Utilize good documentation practices.

  • Assist in the preparation of documentation as applicable to the scope of operations in the manufacturing facility.

  • Identify areas for improvement in manufacturing efficiencies and compliance.

  • Assist with technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing environment.

  • Perform cleaning and preparation of all equipment necessary for the daily manufacturing of products.

  • Assist and partake in 5S program.

  • Maintain appropriate inventories of supplies within the production area.

  • Become an expert in selected key areas of interest.

  • Perform housekeeping and general upkeep throughout the production area as required.

  • Participate in Manufacturing Mentor Program.

What will you need to be successful?

Education:

  • Associates degree in a life science

  • Bachelor's degree in a life science preferred

Experience:

  • 0-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting

  • Familiar with aseptic technique preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Stand for up to 4 hours at a time.

  • Proper PPE must be worn around disinfectants

  • Remain in PPE in a cleanroom environment for up to 8 hours.

  • Lift 30 pounds repeatedly.

  • Must have manual dexterity sufficient to cut finely with a scalpel.

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $21.27 - $31.97 USD hourly. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. In addition to base pay, we provide competitive bonus and benefits, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, parental leave, and generous PTO, paid company holidays annually and 8 hours of Volunteer time and a variety of wellness offerings such as EAP.
