About the Opportunity

A growing outsourcing provider of metal products serving the DataCom and Metal Enclosure industries is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Buyer to support purchasing and supply chain activities. This role is ideal for an organized professional looking to build a career in procurement, vendor management, and manufacturing operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with sourcing and purchasing raw materials, fabricated metal components, hardware, and production supplies.
  • Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate pricing, quantities, and delivery schedules.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding quotations, lead times, order status, and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to support production needs.
  • Track open orders and follow up on late deliveries to minimize production downtime.
  • Maintain purchasing records, supplier information, and procurement documentation.
  • Compare supplier pricing, quality, and delivery performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to support customer requirements.
  • Assist with vendor development and supplier performance evaluations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing and supply chain department.


Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory control, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience in metal fabrication, sheet metal, manufacturing, or industrial environments is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
