Reports to:
Product Engineering Manager
Responsibilities:
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings with the organization and communicate with inter-company personnel.
  • Maintain various product engineering documents, drawings, files.
  • Ensure accurate creation and distribution of component lists.
  • Design, create and maintain bill of material functions.
  • Identify potential issues that could affect the implementation of change and provide countermeasures.
  • Support and attend all required customer and internal functional trials/meetings.
  • Set schedule, identify priorities, and initiate action plans for requested design changes.
  • Communicate status of changes to various internal and external customer groups.
  • Examine specification documents and development plans.
  • Compile pictures and drawings from customer-supplied documents and component lists for internal use.
  • Attend meetings and provide support/documentation for various marketing and sales requests.
  • Analyze product failure data and laboratory test results to determine causes of problems and develop solutions.
  • Attend the trial activities facilitated by Quality and/or Engineering.
  • Monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration.
  • Follow established work practices that support compliance with all company policies, safety standards, 5S practices, regulatory and/or customer requirements.
  • **Senior Product Engineer: Mentor new product engineers and PE technicians in engineering, department, and company responsibilities.

Education:
  • S. Diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree with a concentration of course work in industrial technology, industrial or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution, preferred.

Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience as a P.E. Technician.

Skills:
  • Experience working with Windows operating system as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Other:
  • Must be able to travel with limited notice.

Work Environment: This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands:
The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may also be required to work in hot temperatures.
