Erie Plating Company is looking for a Metal Finisher to join our dedicated team of experts.
We are a leading provider of metal finishing, and we're excited to find someone ready to bring their skills to our growing company.
This position is safety-sensitive and subject to FAA regulations. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug test.
Job Summary:
The Metal Finisher plays a key role within our organization. This role prepares and provides world-class metal finishing for some of the most dynamic customers in key industries such as aerospace.
Mastering this craft is a career opportunity and perfect for a science-minded individual with attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a metal finishing process that may include copper, nickel, chrome, tin, etc.
  • Operate various metal finishing equipment, tooling, and monitoring and measuring equipment.
  • Review work instructions to understand product specifications and finishing requirements.
  • Inspect finished products during processing to ensure they meet company quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) during operations.
  • Document completed work and report any quality control issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications:
The following qualifications are optimal; however, we are willing to train highly driven, detail-oriented individuals.
Education:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or 1-2 years of experience as a Metal Finisher or in a related field

Experience:
Familiarity with different metal finishing techniques and tools.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Knowledge of different metal materials and their characteristics.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • A basic knowledge of chemistry is preferred but not required.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general documents, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints. Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and compliance auditors.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply principles of logic or scientific thinking to a wide range of practical problems. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
