General Summary
SHIFT SUBJECT TO CHANGE: LN10 4am-2:30pm
General Summary
Maintains manufacturing operation through the performance of machine maintenance and troubleshooting. Work with machine shop and engineering for all area related projects. Ensure area staff is running priority machines. Training of employees and updating Training guides, SOPs as needed. Other work as directed. Suggests and implementations for improvements in work area.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities
Oversees area for all shifts. Does basic machine shop work - drilling, tapping, sawing, grinding. Able to sketch simple parts and read basic prints. Work on continually improving processes and machinery in the assigned area. Works independently with minimum supervision (self-starter). Demonstrates above average mechanical ability, including troubleshooting skill and ability to identify source of process related problems. Ability to get along and train other people that have a variety of skill levels. Capable of doing all setups and changeovers on production equipment in the area. Able to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, caliper, and dial indicators. Coordinates and assists quality with requirements and quality standards. Updates SOP's and training plans as needed and works closely with the engineering department on updating tooling lists as needed. Develops and owns the training plan . Standardization changeovers and adjustments for best practice. Sign off on training with each new employee in the area and reviewing process changes with current staff as needed. Demonstrates leadership qualities in the areas of safety, personal discipline, and attitude.

Educational Skills and Experience
One year as a Manufacturing Specialist 5, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated above-average mechanical and technical skills in previous roles, including the operation of BLIE, El Dorado, and CCU systems, as well as general ARC operations. Possesses a strong understanding of and ability to maintain compliance with RCRA and ARC requirements, including regulatory reporting, while working in lead-processing areas requiring strict adherence to PPE requirements, safety procedures, and environmental compliance standards. Reliable in attendance, productivity, safety and quality Demonstrated positive teamwork skills; promoted teamwork and demonstrated effective skills to help others meet goals; builds teamwork on shift and between other shifts. Training and experience in a machine shop or knowledge of metal working machine and processes. Ability to operate surface grinder, polish dies and sharpen knives. Demonstrated effective written and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated leadership/organizational skills. Ability to work cooperatively and efficiently with minimum supervision. Demonstrated knowledge of all Operations within area. Willing and able to work flexible hours across multiple shifts. Demonstrated ability to work well with others and provide clear and effective training. No record of disciplinary action at a Report of Conference level or above within previous 12 months. Basic computer skills with Microsoft word, excel and outlook. Other projects assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; extreme heat; explosives and vibration. Eye protection in the form of approved safety glasses with side shields or approved safety goggles is required. Approved steel-toe safety shoes are required. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires hearing protection to be worn in the work area.
Physical Demands
  • Vision correctable to 20/20 with normal color vision, depth perception and peripheral vision
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 35 lbs. unaided
  • Ability to stand or sit for up to 3 hours at a time
  • Ability to frequently kneel, crouch, bend or extend reach as required to perform tasks
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs
  • Ability to grasp and feel small parts

Pay Range:
Starting Hourly Rate: $33.84
The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
