About the Position
The Manufacturing Associate at Power Partners (an ERMCO Company) encompasses multiple areas of transformer manufacturing, including assembly, machine operation, coil winding, material handling, paint line operations, quality inspection, and shipping. Depending on business needs, Manufacturing Associates may be assigned or cross-trained in one or more functional areas. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
What You Will Do
As a Manufacturing Associate, you may perform one or more of the following duties:
  • Assemble, inspect, test, and/or repair Pad-mounted, Pole-mounted, and Three-Phase transformers according to detailed work instructions
  • Operate, set up, and monitor production equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
  • Wind coils and handle copper, steel, and other materials using hand and power tools
  • Load, unload, and operate paint line and material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead hoists, and lift-assist devices
  • Move, stage, and ship materials and finished products, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to quality standards
  • Use measuring and testing devices (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, gauges, scanners, and test equipment) to verify product quality
  • Read and interpret work instructions, technical documentation, and quality requirements
  • Perform frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials typically weighing 50 lbs. or more, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production, quality, and safety goals
  • Consistently follow all ERMCO safety policies, procedures, and department-specific rules

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to understand, follow, and communicate written and verbal instructions
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across various units of measurement)
  • Ability to use iPads or other electronic devices for communication and work tasks
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and quality
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with open communication
  • Knowledge and demonstration of proper lifting techniques
  • Ability to grasp, reach, handle, and manipulate tools, parts, and materials
  • Willingness and ability to learn multiple manufacturing processes
  • Physical ability to:
    • Lift, push, and pull 50+ lbs. regularly (weights vary by position)
    • Stand and walk for extended periods
    • Occasionally sit, stoop, reach, or kneel
  • Visual acuity of 20/40 or better (with or without corrective lenses), including normal peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety toe shoes, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, welding hood, and hearing protection
  • Commitment to following all plant safety policies and procedures
