Job description

TSC's Production Division is looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, based in Huntsville, AL (Discovery). This group provides products and services in the areas of radar, communication systems, sensors, antennas and other electronics systems to the missile, radar/sensor system, communications, control systems, data acquisition, and signal processing markets. The company has developed products ranging from chip-level, application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC) to complete, turnkey radar and communication systems. TSC has established a state-of-the-art hardware capability that is well respected by customers in Government and industry. TSC also provides full spectrum systems engineering support including theoretical analysis, requirements generation, interface control, and test planning/execution/data analysis.
As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer at TSC, you'll tackle challenges head-on. Analyze and optimize production processes, integrate new technologies for improved efficiency and quality. Collaborate with diverse teams to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, ensuring the seamless flow of high-performance electronics. This role demands analytical prowess, strong leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and implementing assembly procedures
  • Introduce and train employees on new equipment
  • Assists in leading and adhering to safety, quality, cost, schedule, technical and programmatic requirements, and performance expectations. Conduct process audits and ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards (e.g., IPC, AS9100).
  • Providing shop floor support, developing manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, engineering change implementation and coordinating changes in the build process within an electrical/mechanical manufacturing facility, while mentoring and training junior engineers and technicians.
  • Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into work instructions that will produce high quality hardware.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) techniques on both new and existing products to produce optimal design and manufacturing solutions.

Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in an engineering equivalent field from an ABET accredited school is required and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (master's degree with minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or Phd with minimum of 3 years of relevant experience).
  • Experience should include military/DoD manufacturing experience, mechanical assemblies and/or circuit card assemblies and integration.
  • Familiar with IPC, J-STD, MIL and DOD Standards, in-depth knowledge, and experience with AS9100 standards and certification processes.
  • Experience in development and implementation of a new maintenance programs and creating training programs.
  • US Citizenship due to Operations Security (OPSEC) Requirements. and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD secret clearance.
  • Experience with development programs and transition to production.
  • Experience applying audit standards, procedures, and techniques, strongly preferred.
  • Interact across all levels of the organization; efficiently and effectively communicate and implement agreed upon changes; navigate difficult situations and conversations to a productive outcome.
  • Strong analytical skills in root cause analysis, corrective / preventative action determination.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities. Able to work independently or as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to accurately maintain records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.
