Job description

Syndeo Staffing has a direct hire opening for an experienced Manufacturing Estimating Engineer!  Our client manufactures machined parts in the aerospace industry and is looking for someone well versed in engineering processes in product development, cost estimating, and supporting business development.  This is a remarkable, family-oriented company that offers competitive wages with a generous benefit package!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in leading multiple projects from scope of development, detailed design, labor cost estimating, and transition of jobs onto the production floor to ensure successful production
  • Communication and coordination of all pertinent manufacturing documentation to the production floor in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordination with sales, purchasing, and finance leaders on product costing and competitiveness.
  • Plan new parts and review current parts as needed
  • Make rework jobs as necessary to keep production/customers supported
  • Support the shop with drawing or engineering help
  • Work directly with customers to resolve engineering challenges
  • Review and implement customer engineering changes
  • Assist operations in the selection of projects on which to bid  
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with owners, consultants, subs and suppliers
  • Review project cost assessments and establish district rate files for labor, equipment and materials
  • Assist and/or lead in proposal preparation and presentation to secure new orders
  • Assist and/or leading design-build projects and fee/risk analysis
  • Keep Quote Log up to date with pertinent data and track quote due dates 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in business, engineering, or finance
  • 5-7 years machining industry experience
  • Knowledge of contracts, cost management, estimating strategies in the aerospace Industry
