Job Summary The Asse mbly Mechanic is responsible for assembling, installing, sealing, rigging, inspecting, and completing precision structural and system components. This role requires working from drawings, process specifications, and quality control requirements to ensure assemblies meet fit, form, and function standards. Mechanics also perform functional testing, minor machine maintenance, and support continuous product flow within the manufacturing process. Key Responsibilities A ssemble and install components using drawings, documents, and specifications Perform functional testing to verify fit, form, and function Use shop mathematics and precision measuring/test instruments to complete assignments Utilize tooling in the assembly of sub-assemblies and end items Verify work against engineering specifications and identify discrepancies Perform minor machine maintenance including filter replacement, lubrication, and coolant checks Move product within the manufacturing area using assigned equipment Support continuous product flow by assisting and training employees at all levels Cross-train in inspection and become SIA qualified Operate fastening equipment including conventional and CNC machines (less than simultaneous 3-axis movement) Perform specialty skills such as: Assembly/Installation of Structures Sealer Application Sub-Assembly Doors Installation Integral Fuel Cell Sealing Precision Bench Assembly Pressure and Vacuum Testing Required Qualifications 11+ years of experience (10 years considered) Fuselage integration expertise Multilayer layup experience 737 aircraft experience required Preferred Qualifications A dvanced knowledge of aerospace assembly processes Experience mentoring and training assembly personnel Familiarity with inspection and quality assurance procedur es Education: High School or equivalent
