The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and execution of Vertech’s manufacturing operations, including the Panel Shop. This role ensures efficient production, high-quality output, and alignment with company objectives. The Director of Manufacturing works closely with the executive team, engineering, project management, and sales to support company growth while fostering a culture of Teamwork, Innovation, Passion, Professionalism, Balance, and Dependability.
Essential Job Functions
The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for the following:
  • Operations amp; Production Management
    • Oversee all manufacturing and panel shop operations to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production.
    • Develop and implement manufacturing processes, standards, and workflows to improve productivity and consistency.
    • Ensure on-time delivery of manufactured products aligned with project schedules and customer expectations.
    • Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions to meet operational goals.
    • Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Team Leadership amp; Development
    • Lead and manage manufacturing personnel in alignment with Vertech’s core values and culture.
    • Administer HR policies including performance management, hiring, training, and development.
    • Build and maintain a skilled workforce aligned with current and future production needs.
    • Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategy and Continuous Improvement
    • Develop and maintain a strategic plan for manufacturing operations aligned with company objectives.
    • Identify and implement process improvements, lean manufacturing initiatives, and cost-saving opportunities.
    • Establish KPIs to measure operational performance and report results to leadership.
    • Drive standardization of manufacturing processes and documentation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with Engineering, Automation, and Project Management teams to ensure manufacturability and efficient execution.
    • Align manufacturing capabilities with company growth initiatives and strategic markets.
    • Support continuous improvement of project execution methodologies.
  • Financial amp; Resource Management
    • Manage manufacturing budgets, labor efficiency, and material utilization.
    • Optimize resource allocation to meet financial targets and operational goals.
    • Monitor and improve labor multipliers, utilization rates, and production costs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field required.
  • MBA is preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
  • At least 5 years of experience with strategy development and leadership (including direct reports)
  • Experience in industrial automation, panel fabrication, or control systems integration preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain, and production planning.
Skills and Abilities
