Job Title: Class B Driver – Tree Care Department - Manual Transmission License/Certification

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Class B Driver to support our Tree Care Department. The ideal candidate will operate commercial vehicles to transport crews, equipment, and debris to and from job sites. This role is essential in ensuring smooth daily operations, job site efficiency, and the highest standards of safety and customer service.

EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

·         Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.

·         Minimum of [1–2] years of professional driving experience (tree care, landscaping, or construction preferred).

·         Ability to operate and back large vehicles safely in tight job site conditions.

·         Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety requirements.

·         Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work in all weather conditions.

·         Physically able to lift heavy equipment and debris (up to 50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and perform manual labor when needed.

·         Knowledge of tree care practices and equipment is a plus.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles, including dump trucks, chipper trucks, and water trucks.

·         Load and unload tree care equipment and materials at job sites.

·         Transport tree limbs, logs, chips, and other debris to disposal facilities or designated drop-off sites.

·         Support tree care crews on-site as needed, including assisting with ground operations or cleanup.

·         Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.

·         Maintain accurate driving logs and inspection records.

·         Communicate effectively with the tree care team, supervisors, and dispatch regarding schedules and job progress.

·         Ensure all equipment is properly secured and maintained.

·         Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment.

Preferred Skills:

·         Experience operating a chipper, stump grinder, or bucket truck.

·         Ability to work well in a team and independently.

·         Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·         Frequently required to:

o    Stand and walk.

·         Use hands and arms to handle and reach.

o    Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

o    Talk and hear.

o    Outside weather conditions (extreme cold, heat, wind, and rain)

·         Occasionally required to:

o    Sit

o    Climb or balance.

o    Lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds.

·         Vision requirements include:

o    Close vision
