QA / Manual Tester | Austin, Texas, United States Job Summary: QA / Manual Tester - Austin, TX | $42-52/Hr
About the Role
Join our dynamic IT team as a QA Associate Analyst, working closely with developers and business stakeholders at DFPS to ensure top-tier software quality and user satisfaction. Leverage your expertise in manual testing to discover and document software defects before release, play a crucial role in risk mitigation, and contribute directly to the reliability and success of mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed test cases for integration, data conversion, and system testing.
- Create, upgrade, and execute manual test scripts; manage test cases in HP ALM/JIRA.
- Analyze business processes and requirements to formulate comprehensive test scenarios.
- Document, track, and verify application defects using HP ALM/JIRA.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA Leads, and project teams to ensure quality deliverables and timely completion of assignments.
- Prepare and manage test data using SQL and PL/SQL.
- Execute web service and batch process testing; utilize various toolsets as needed.
- Prepare and present clear testing documentation and reports with MS Office Suite.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement and perform other QA-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- 8+ years' experience testing web-based applications (UI, database, batch, web service).
- Proven ability to develop test scenarios, write comprehensive test cases, and perform manual testing in complex environments.
- 5+ years' experience using HP ALM/JIRA for test case and defect management.
- Skilled in creating and maintaining test data with SQL and PL/SQL.
- 5+ years' experience collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Experience testing data conversions and web services.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with browser testing tools.
- Experience with SharePoint.
- Basic exposure to test automation tools (Selenium, LoadRunner, accessibility testing).
- Experience testing within Salesforce.
- Working knowledge of accessibility testing tools (JAWS, Wave, CCA).
