Job Summary

Job Type: Contract / Full-Time
Location: Austin,TX
Experience: 5+ Years

We are seeking an experienced Manual Tester with a strong background in software testing, Agile methodologies, API testing, database validation, and batch processing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on testing experience in recent projects and be capable of analyzing complex business requirements, User Stories, and Epics to develop comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.

Experience working on Integrated Eligibility (IE) projects is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and execute detailed test scripts, test scenarios, and test cases based on User Stories, Epics, and business requirements.
  • Perform Sprint, Functional, Regression, Integration, and System Testing within an Agile environment.
  • Analyze User Stories/Epics and Storyboards to identify test conditions, business rules, dependencies, and edge cases.
  • Participate in project meetings, sprint planning, requirement discussions, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Conduct live Sprint demonstrations and communicate testing results and functionality to project stakeholders.
  • Perform REST and SOAP API testing, including request/response validation and data verification.
  • Execute and monitor batch jobs in Linux/Unix environments using tools such as PuTTY.
  • Mock and validate inbound files based on Storyboards and business requirements.
  • Perform database testing using Oracle or other relational databases.
  • Write SQL queries beyond basic data retrieval to validate data integrity, relationships, and business rules.
  • Identify, document, track, and retest defects using ALM, JIRA, and JIRA plug-ins.
  • Maintain accurate test execution results, defect documentation, traceability, and other required QA deliverables.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure quality delivery.
  • Support project activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and quality assurance practices.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on software testing/development experience, with recent hands-on testing experience.
  • Strong experience creating test cases based on User Stories (US), Epics, and business requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum testing methodologies.
  • Strong experience with Sprint and Regression Testing.
  • Experience with ALM for defect management.
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA and/or JIRA plug-ins for defect tracking and test management.
  • Strong experience with REST and SOAP API testing.
  • Experience executing batch jobs in Linux/Unix environments using PuTTY.
  • Experience with inbound file mocking and file-based testing.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle or other relational databases.
  • Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write queries for data validation and complex database testing.
  • Strong understanding of database principles and data relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex systems and requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.

  • Functional experience working on Integrated Eligibility (IE) projects.
  • Experience in Human Services / Eligibility domains.
  • Knowledge of SDLC processes and QA methodologies.
  • Experience with test automation and developing scripts using existing or new automation frameworks.
  • Experience working with large-scale enterprise applications.
