Minimum Qualifications - Education Requirements: Required:โ€ข Current North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art Cosmetologist or Manicurist licenseโ€ข Current North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art Cosmetology Teacher or Manicuring Teacher licenseโ€ข Current CEUs that support field experience and/or advanced education in Cosmetology or Manicuring Technology.Work Experience: Required:โ€ข Must have at least 2 years' experience as a licensed cosmetologist or manicurist.

Preferred Qualifications - Preferred:โ€ข Associates Degree in Cosmetology from a regionally accredited institution.Preferred:โ€ข Have at least 2 years' experience as a licensed cosmetology instructor, preferably within a community college.Or have at least 2 years' experience as a license manicuring instructor.โ€ข Five years documented cosmetology or manicuring work experience.

Essential Duties - ยท Provide classroom and lab instruction for students in a physical instructional setting.ยท Instruct evening as needed for the program and students.ยท Organize a semester course following department, institutional, and state guidelines.ยท Create course materials (course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, tests, handouts, lectures, slides, assignments, rubrics, models, classroom schedule activities, group work).ยท Develop, prepare and grade assignments identified to evaluate student performance and based on student learning outcomes.ยท Set up materials on Blackboard (grade book; make-up assignments)ยท Set up policies compliant with department, institutional, and state regulations and requirements.ยท Hold student conferences as needed and required.ยท Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance; maintain other records and data bases according to program needs and/or accreditation requirements.ยท Record attendance in Self-Service.ยท Correspond with students, Lead Instructor, division Dean, and Vice President of Academic Affairs and provide responses in a timely manner. Be accessible to Lead Instructor and Dean by phone and email.ยท Keep up with grades and attendance on a weekly basis. Submit grade and attendance reports as required.ยท Organize and maintain a clean and efficient classroom and lab setting; model and instruct students on the importance of a clean and organized work environment.ยท Oversee inventory control and management.ยท Work with students registered with Disabilities Services.ยท Stay abreast of new developments and changes in the career field of manicuring and nail technology and the NC Cosmetic Art Rules and Regulationsยท Complete all compulsory training in regards toFERPA, Title IX, and Campus Safety.ยท Respond to student issues professionally and report unresolved issues or classroom incidents to the Lead Instructor.ยท Adhere to all division and campus policies and procedures.
