Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing the implementation, maintenance, and critical review of actuarial models, studies, and systems used for pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting, and other actuarial functions. The role includes developing complex models, providing training, presenting findings, and managing multiโ€‘departmental projects that may involve external partners. The incumbent must demonstrate a deep understanding of multiple actuarial areas and at least one business segment.

Responsibilities
  • Implement, maintain, and critically review actuarial models and systems.
  • Develop complicated models and design training materials for model development.
  • Create written and oral presentations to support decisionโ€‘making.
  • Manage dayโ€‘toโ€‘day projects involving nonโ€‘actuarial departments and external parties.
  • Ensure compliance with actuarial and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics (other bachelor or higher degrees may be considered).
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) with compliance to membership requirements.
  • At least 5 years of actuarial experience in health insurance or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of management or lead capacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare effective documentation and facilitate training.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SQL, Visual Basic, or other programming skills.
  • Experience in Medicaid.
Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid role requiring a presence in the office three days a week.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Pay Range: $112,200.00 โ€“ $202,600.00 (exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location). The role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan. Benefits include health and wellness benefits, 401(k) savings plan, pension plan, paid time off, paid parental leave, disability insurance, supplemental life insurance, employee assistance program, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, and additional incentives.
