Job description

  • Lead multiple Virtual Construction functions, including BIM coordination and clash detection, 4D sequencing and animation, and model-based quality control
  • Integrate virtual construction methodologies into project delivery and turn virtual construction into a competitive advantage
  • Lead Managers and allocate time, people, and budget across concurrent projects
  • Implement department-wide SOPs and BIM Execution Plans
  • Develop federated coordination models and clash resolution strategies across architectural, structural, MEP, and specialty contractor disciplines
  • Produce 4D construction sequencing simulations and logistics animations tied to project schedules
  • Analyze schedules to identify optimization opportunities, constructability risks, and mitigation strategies
  • Establish quality control procedures, conduct model audits, and verify compliance with project requirements
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement emerging tools, workflows, and industry best practices
  • Manage department workload, staffing plans, project budgets, and resource allocation
  • Mentor and develop Associates, Senior Associates, and Managers
  • Lead stakeholder meetings and communicate with clients, architects, designers, engineers, subcontractors, and HITT project teams
  • Partner with HITT Operations and Preconstruction to align VDC scope with project requirements and pursuit timelines
  • Present virtual construction capabilities in interviews, owner meetings, and industry events
  • Represent HITT through participation in relevant professional organizations
Requirements
  • 8–10 years of dedicated virtual design and construction experience
  • Experience leading and developing others, including managing or mentoring team leads
  • Experience allocating staffing and managing budgets across multiple concurrent projects
  • Proven success implementing virtual construction strategies on complex projects
  • Deep, current working knowledge of BIM tools and VDC processes
  • Working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, Autodesk Forma, Synchro Pro, Adobe Creative Cloud, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency understanding construction documents, shop drawings, and other design communication tools
  • Experience developing and enforcing BIM Execution Plans and department-level standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for leading external stakeholders through complex coordination decisions
  • Passion for learning and adopting new technology
  • A four-year degree from an accredited university in a relevant field is preferred but not required
  • Additional applicable work experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree
  • Preferred: experience leading managers or team leads
  • Preferred: active membership and leadership in appropriate professional organizations
  • Preferred: experience with advanced AI-driven VDC workflows and automation tools
  • Preferred: programming/scripting skills in Python or Dynamo
  • Preferred: CM Builder (CadMakers) or equivalent experience for 4D scheduling and visualization
  • Preferred: familiarity with reality capture and scan-to-model verification workflows
  • Preferred: experience with NVIDIA Omniverse, Digital Twin development, or similar platforms
  • Preferred: experience supporting large-scale or technically complex projects
