Product Designer, Human Interface Responsibilities:
  • Leads and delivers design projects of large and (or) ambiguous scope.
  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for our 2 billion plus users.
  • Design flows and experiences that simplify and distill down complex actions into usable interfaces.
  • Design new experiences or layouts that evolve and define visual systems.
  • Contribute to strategic decisions around the future direction of Facebook products.
  • Give and solicit feedback from designers and a broader product team in order to continually raise our bar for quality, while also taking on mentorship.
  • Lead a partnership with product managers, engineers, researchers and content strategists to oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience designing complex software products, end to end, with a focus on user experience, interaction, and visual design that meet business objectives
  • Conducts complex research studies and drives business growth through design-led innovation
  • Leads end-to-end development efforts, drives progress with XFN teams, develops design roadmaps, and makes high-impact decisions balancing user needs with business growth objectives
  • Expertise in advanced prototyping techniques, such as creating functional prototypes or using emerging technologies

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of leading the design of complex products for virtual, augmented, mixed reality, and other emerging technologies
  • Strong experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional stakeholders such as User Research, Engineering, and Product Management
  • Advanced skills in prototyping 3D interactions or interfaces using Unity and other industry-leading tools
  • Expertise in designing and implementing novel user inputs such as hand or eye tracking
  • Experience driving the design of products for developers and/or creators, with a focus on scalability and platform development
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
