Here is a detailed job description for the role of an S/4HANA SAP SCM AMS Onsite Transition Manager for a manufacturing client, with emphasis on MM/PP and SD, and active involvement through Phase 2 including KT, Transition, Hypercare, Stabilization, and Regression Testing: Job Title: S/4HANA SAP SCM AMS Onsite Transition Manager – MM/PP & SD (Manufacturing Focus) Position Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on S/4HANA SAP SCM AMS Onsite Transition Manager to lead and manage the Application Management Services (AMS) Transition Phase 2 for a manufacturing client.

This role will involve direct coordination with the incumbent support team, detailed knowledge transfer (KT) planning and execution, managing transition and stabilization activities, and playing a critical role in regression testing and system validation. The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in SAP MM/PP and SD, combined with proven leadership experience in AMS transitions, particularly within S/4HANA environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge Transfer (KT) Planning & Execution: Develop a structured and detailed KT plan to ensure full coverage of current support processes, documentation, and system landscape.
  • Coordinate and track knowledge transfer sessions with incumbent team members, ensuring smooth handover of MM/PP and SD functional areas.
  • Establish knowledge repositories and ensure accurate documentation of business processes, configurations, and custom developments.

Transition Management:

  • Act as the primary onsite leader responsible for AMS transition activities, including ramp-up of support team capabilities and establishing service operations framework.
  • Collaborate closely with offshore counterparts to establish a dual-shore support model. Monitor and drive completion of readiness checklists across all functional and technical streams.

Hypercare & Stabilization Support:

  • Lead Hypercare planning and execution, defining scope, SLAs, and issue resolution strategies.
  • Ensure seamless stabilization post go-live by overseeing incident and service request management, root cause analysis, and performance monitoring.
  • Coordinate business user engagement, tracking and resolving high-priority issues across MM/PP and SD modules.

Regression Testing Leadership:

  • Design and lead regression testing cycles to ensure system stability during transition.
  • Collaborate with QA/test teams to identify test scenarios, scripts, and expected outcomes across integrated MM, PP, and SD processes.
  • Manage issue logging and resolution during test execution, escalating to development or functional teams as needed.

Hands-On Functional Contribution (MM/PP and SD):

  • Provide hands-on support in MM (purchasing, inventory, vendor mgmt), PP (MRP, shop floor, work centers), and SD (order processing, pricing, delivery).
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Participate in minor enhancements, configuration updates, and user training as part of ongoing support. Required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or equivalent.8–12 years of SAP experience in MM, PP, and SD modules, with at least 2 full-cycle S/4HANA implementations.
  • Minimum 3+ years in AMS or support transition leadership roles in a manufacturing context.
  • Strong understanding of production environments, discrete or process manufacturing, and end-to-end supply chain processes.
  • Proven track record in managing transition programs, hypercare activities, and regression test cycles.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working onsite for global manufacturing clients.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy) and ticket management workflows.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Fiori apps, interface monitoring, and IDoc troubleshooting.
