WHAT WE NEED

Bopat Electric is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Testing Technician III to join our growing Power Services Division. If you're an experienced electrical testing professional who can independently lead testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and electrical reliability projects while mentoring junior technicians, we'd like to hear from you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Independently perform and lead acceptance testing, maintenance testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and electrical reliability projects.
  • Lead field crews performing work on low-, medium-, and, where qualified, high-voltage electrical power systems.
  • Test and evaluate switchgear, switchboards, transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays, cables, grounding systems, automatic transfer switches, generators, motor control equipment, and related electrical apparatus.
  • Perform and direct primary and secondary injection testing, relay testing, transformer testing, breaker testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Evaluate test results, identify deficiencies, troubleshoot electrical and control system issues, and make technical recommendations.
  • Review drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, and project documentation prior to field execution.
  • Prepare complete technical reports, test documentation, deficiency logs, and customer deliverables.
  • Coordinate with customers, engineers, project managers, and field personnel while maintaining the highest safety standards.
  • Mentor and develop junior testing technicians while helping build a strong technical team.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • NETA Level III, NICET Electrical Power Testing Level III, or equivalent electrical power systems testing experience.
  • Five or more years of electrical testing, commissioning, or power systems field experience.
  • Proven ability to independently perform and lead electrical testing and commissioning projects.
  • Experience with low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical distribution equipment.
  • Experience performing protective relay testing, primary and secondary injection testing, transformer testing, and breaker testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, and safe switching practices.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment such as Omicron, Doble, Megger, Vanguard, Manta, ETI, Phenix, High Voltage Inc., or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, customer communication, and technical documentation skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, including overnight travel.
