Project Manager - Technology Modernization Program
Position Summary
The Project Manager will lead one or more strategic initiatives within the Bank's multi-year Technology Modernization Program. This role is responsible for driving execution across business and technology workstreams, managing project plans, risks, dependencies, governance, and stakeholder communications while ensuring successful delivery of transformation objectives.
The Project Manager will work closely with business leaders, technology teams, implementation partners, and vendors to coordinate activities across solution design, integration, data conversion, testing, training, operational readiness, and deployment. Experience supporting large-scale banking transformations, core system replacements, or digital modernization efforts is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Project Delivery
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths.
  • Drive execution across business, operations, technology, data, integration, and vendor workstreams.
  • Track progress against scope, schedule, budget, risks, and key deliverables.
  • Facilitate project governance, status reporting, and executive-level communications.
  • Ensure decisions, assumptions, action items, and dependencies are documented and actively managed.
Stakeholder Management
  • Partner with business leaders, application owners, technology teams, and external vendors.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple stakeholder groups to ensure alignment and timely decision-making.
  • Escalate risks, issues, and roadblocks appropriately while driving resolution.
  • Build strong working relationships across functional areas and organizational levels.
Risk, Issue & Dependency Management
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Develop mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Ensure timely escalation of critical decisions and project impacts.
  • Support control readiness, operational readiness, and organizational preparedness activities.

Data & Integration Management
  • Lead data and integration workstreams across the modernization program, ensuring alignment between business requirements, target-state architecture, and implementation plans.
  • Coordinate activities related to data migration, data conversion, data validation, data governance, reconciliation, and reporting readiness.
  • Manage cross-system integration dependencies, including APIs, middleware, file-based interfaces, real-time messaging, and third-party vendor connectivity.
  • Partner with business, technology, architecture, and vendor teams to define, document, and track interface requirements, source-to-target mappings, and data flows.
  • Facilitate issue resolution related to data quality, data lineage, integration defects, and application interoperability.
  • Ensure integration and data deliverables are incorporated into project plans, testing cycles, cutover activities, and production readiness assessments.
  • Coordinate end-to-end testing activities supporting integrations, conversions, reporting, and downstream operational processes.
  • Monitor and manage risks associated with data dependencies, interface readiness, reconciliation accuracy, and conversion execution.
Vendor & Implementation Partner Coordination
  • Coordinate delivery activities with third-party vendors.
  • Monitor vendor commitments, delivery milestones, and dependency management.
  • Facilitate working sessions, workshops, design reviews, and status meetings.
  • Ensure alignment between vendor deliverables and business objectives.
Testing & Readiness
  • Support planning and coordination of SIT, UAT, dress rehearsals, and production readiness activities.
  • Partner with business and technology teams to ensure successful execution of testing and defect remediation.
  • Coordinate conversion, cutover, training, and go-live readiness activities.
Change & Communication
  • Partner with Change Management teams to support stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and adoption activities.
  • Ensure impacted teams understand upcoming changes, key dates, and required actions.
Qualifications
  • Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience leading complex technology transformation, modernization, or enterprise change initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience within Commercial Banking and Private Banking business domains, including lending, deposits, treasury services, payments, client onboarding, client servicing, and operational processes.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data management, data migration, data governance, reporting, and analytics concepts.
  • Experience managing data conversion, system integration, and operational readiness activities for large-scale technology implementations.
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional business, technology, operations, data, and vendor teams.
  • Strong experience with project planning, risk management, issue resolution, dependency management, and executive status reporting.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working within structured Program Management and Governance frameworks.

Preferred
  • Experience leading banking, financial services, or fintech transformation programs.
  • Experience working with system integrators and third-party vendors.
  • PMP, PgMP, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent certification

CompensationThe expected annual salary for this position is between $145,000 and $165,000 at the start of employment. A salary offer is determined on an individualized basis, taking into consideration factors such as an individual's skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision plans, life and disability insurance, employee wellness program, retirement and savings plans with employer contributions, generous holiday and paid time off schedules, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
