Job description

We are partnering with a well-established, independent trust and estate administration firm headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee to find their next Chief Technology Officer. This is a senior executive role for a technology leader ready to own the full IT strategy of a growing, regulated business - from infrastructure and cybersecurity to vendor management and innovation.

This is a high-impact position with direct CEO access, a collaborative executive team, and the mandate to shape how technology drives the company forward.

What You'll Do

Strategic Technology Leadership

  • Develop and execute a forward-looking technology roadmap aligned with business growth objectives
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies - including AI - to drive operational efficiency, scalability, and competitive advantage
  • Advise the CEO and executive team on technology trends, risks, and investment priorities
  • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Data, and Operations leadership

Infrastructure & IT Operations

  • Own the company's IT infrastructure - networking, hardware, cloud, and software systems
  • Manage and develop the internal IT team and oversee key external managed service relationships
  • Evaluate and manage technology vendors, platforms, and tools
  • Oversee IT support operations to ensure timely and effective issue resolution

Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance

  • Lead a robust cybersecurity and risk mitigation posture across the organization
  • Ensure compliance with state banking regulations and applicable requirements for a regulated financial institution
  • Proactively manage technology-related risks and incident response
  • Partner with Compliance and Legal to meet audit and regulatory obligations

Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 15+ years of progressive IT leadership or management experience
  • Background in financial services, banking, trust, or other regulated industries
  • Strong working knowledge of networking, hardware, software, and security management
  • Expertise across cloud services, data services, network services, API management, compliance, and risk management
  • Proven ability to balance security with innovation and business enablement
  • Strong communication skills with experience advising C-suite and board-level stakeholders

Preferred

  • Familiarity with state banking regulations and compliance frameworks
  • Experience managing external managed service provider relationships
