Job description

Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Director of IT is responsible for leading and managing the company’s information technology systems, infrastructure, and support functions to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operations in support of business goals. This role provides oversight of IT operations, cybersecurity, systems implementation, vendor management, and technology planning. The Director of IT directs and leads IT Support Analysts in the delivery of end-user support services, issue resolution, and day-to-day IT support activities. This position works closely with leadership, employees, and external service providers to maintain system performance, support end users, develop IT policies and procedures, and recommend technology solutions that improve operational effectiveness. 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee the company’s IT systems, infrastructure, and day-to-day support operations to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology performance across the organization.
  • Direct and support IT Support Analysts by assigning and prioritizing work, providing guidance and coaching, monitoring service levels, and assisting with the resolution of escalated technical issues.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and best practices to support operational efficiency, data security, system integrity, and compliance with company standards.
  • Oversee system maintenance, upgrades, implementations, user access, and overall technology performance, while identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending solutions that support business needs.
  • Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and consultants, including support coordination, service quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Support cybersecurity, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity efforts to help protect company systems, data, and operations.
  • Partner with leadership and department managers to identify technology needs, support strategic planning, maintain accurate IT documentation and asset records, and assist with budgeting and IT-related projects.
        Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Several years of progressively responsible IT experience, including experience leading or directing technical support functions or IT personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, hardware, software, networks, cybersecurity, and end-user support.
  • Experience developing and maintaining IT policies, procedures, controls, and system documentation.
  • Ability to manage technology projects, vendor relationships, and ongoing system improvements while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, leadership, and external partners.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and make decisions that support business operations, security, and long-term technology needs.
