Systems Support Technician I

Since 1971, Monaco Enterprises, Inc., a Spokane based manufacturer of fire, mass notification and emergency management systems, has been a world-wide industry leader with our proprietary customer solutions. We are seeking a Systems Support Technician as we expand our Systems Support team. This exciting position will provide the opportunity to travel the world and work with some of the most prominent and highly respected customers worldwide.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Frequent domestic and occasional global travel (75% typical)

  • Support proprietary Windows based software

  • Support and configure Ethernet networks and network devices

  • Safely mount/install proprietary hardware solutions such as POE cameras and large screen monitors using ladders on customer sites

  • Run cabling infrastructure within facilities in support of proprietary hardware/network solutions

  • Assist customers with technical issues over the phone and on customer sites

  • Provide formal and informal customer training for installed solutions

  • Provide 24/7 on-call customer support on rotating basis (one week out of every six weeks typical)

  • Learn fire alarm systems and code fundamentals in order to understand and support the core business


Qualifications for an Ideal Candidate:

  • A.A. Degree in a Technical Field (or equivalent technical experience)

  • Technology and/or networking troubleshooting background

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • An understanding of low voltage electronics is a plus

  • Strong writing, verbal, and customer communication skills

  • Trustworthy and possess the ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment

  • Motivation to learn, grow, and become better everyday

  • Willingness to follow pre-established policies and procedures

  • Positive attitude and outwardly focused mindset

  • Ability to pass frequent background checks in order to access U.S. military installations worldwide

  • Willingness to strictly adhere to the company’s drug-free workplace policies in accordance with the federal Drug-Free Workplace Act


Physical and Sensory Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee will constantly be required to talk, hear, and see (color determination). They will frequently be required to walk, sit, stand, bend, and twist. The employee may frequently lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 80 pounds. This position also requires occasional climbing stairs and ladders, crouching, kneeling, repetitive motion, grasping, reaching, and fine finger manipulation. This position seldom will push/pull 100 pounds, crawl, work at heights, and vibrations. While traveling, sitting stationery for long periods of time during flights would be required.
