Transtex develops and manufactures leading-edge aerodynamic solutions that help semi-trailer fleets significantly reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Based in Montreal and operating across North America, we have been driving more sustainable transportation for over twenty years.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Controls Systems Engineer to design and maintain the control logic for our APU systems, which provide electric HVAC and battery management for commercial vehicles without idling the engine.
Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining control logic for existing and new APU products
  • Building and maintaining simulation models of the APU for virtual testing
  • Participating in defining control specifications and requirements with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Performing hardware-in-the-loop testing and validation on actual APU units
  • Generating code from Stateflow models and carrying out verification and validation
  • Contributing to troubleshooting of system-level issues
  • Evaluating component alternatives during product development
  • Supporting prototyping efforts with control logic integration
  • Calibrating control parameters based on test data
  • Documenting control logic, state machines, and calibration parameters
  • Developing and maintaining automated test benches for validation
  • Conducting root cause analysis on system-level failures
  • Optimizing control strategies for energy efficiency
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in control systems or embedded applications
  • Basic knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
  • Ability to leverage AI tools to enhance and support engineering work
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing
  • Familiarity with CAN bus communication protocols
