Overview of the Role:

  • Lead monthly and quarterly syndicated research/market data aggregation, harmonization and reporting for all brands and business units from multiple syndicated data sources (e.g. Nielsen POS, Activant, Stackline, Yipit data sources).
  • Analyze, produce and distribute monthly/quarterly topline reports for all Woodstream brands.
  • Manage/supervise the design, execution, analysis, and key takeaways of insights and analytics to drive to business decisions.
  • Gather and analyze primary and secondary data findings.
  • Partner with cross-functional internal business partners to define business issues, research objectives, and indicated actions.
  • Lead the development of effective and determine efficient research plans at the right level of resource investment and monitor the insights budget against plan.
  • Identify research methodologies, research designs, analysis plans, and final research deliverables - including data, report, findings, and business recommendations.
  • Assist in determining the needs of consumers through intensive research, surveys, focus groups and other mediums.
  • Where appropriate, direct external suppliers and manage research projects through a structured process - identify, select, negotiate, and manage research suppliers to drive project execution excellence.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure timely delivery, quality output, and within budget.
  • Work with trade marketing and sales teams and assist them meet the needs of Key Accounts (Wal Mart, Home Depot, and Amazon) through accurate analysis of trends using both syndicated and/or proprietary data.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of insight generation plans and drive for execution excellence to deliver fact-based and objective based business recommendations to brand marketing teams and other cross-functional partners.
  • Provide analytical and qualitative support for consumer feedback from calls, live chat, reviews, order volumes, returns, defectives, etc.
  • Own cleaning, coding, harmonizing, analyzing and formatting syndicated data to deliver required level of analyses of key category trends and base business performance.
  • Partner with key managers (CMO, Sr. Director of Trade Marketing/Sales Analytics, Director of Insights) to present findings quarterly to internal and external stakeholders highlighting actionable insights
  • Mine and dig for key insights from various data sources to create a compelling business story using what/so what/now framework.
  • Communicate information in an understandable and actionable manner.
  • Develop & maintain tools to expedite feedback to product managers, marketersโ€™ engineers, accounting, distribution centers, and management.
  • Facilitate processes and analysis practices in other divisions throughout the world.
  • Compile, analyze, and present our retail customerโ€™s measurements of us (Online, Bricks and Mortar) Understand what measurements our customers supply, understand what they mean and their desired goal. Regularly share these measurements with the organization and work with the necessary people to make improvements.
  • Ability to interpret and integrate insight from multiple data sources to deliver deeper and more insightful analyses

Successful Candidate Profile:


  • 3+ years relevant marketing research/insights experience (Client/Supplier experience acceptable)
  • Excellent PC and system skills: proficiency in Excel and Access required
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools required (i.e., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Results oriented, ability to think and work independently
  • Flexible team player: performs in both leader and follower roles
  • Strong communication skills
  • College degree required
  • General curiosity and interest in learning/CPG consumer insights, growth mindset
