What We're Looking For:
  • Licensed Physician (MD) with a current, active license to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana.
  • Fellowship trained in Surgical Oncology or Hepatobiliary Surgery.
  • Robotics training is required!
  • Minimum of 3 years of active medical practice preferred.
  • MD privileges at Baton Rouge General Medical Center required.
  • State of Louisiana and Federal DEA certification required.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and an effective problem-solver.
  • Knowledge of legal, ethical, and regulatory standards for the delivery of medical care.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, quality outcomes, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do:
Provides and manages direct health care for a specified patient population while delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered medical care.
  • Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Examine patients using medical instruments and diagnostic equipment.
  • Obtain and document comprehensive patient medical histories.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and imaging examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and treatment regimens as appropriate.
  • Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention, wellness, nutrition, hygiene, and healthy lifestyle practices.
  • Coordinate care and refer patients to medical specialists or other healthcare resources as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with organizational, regulatory, and HIPAA standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
