• Maintain the integrity of general ledger records and supporting schedules by monitoring account activity and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Coach and support property accounting staff through regular guidance, work review, and development-focused feedback.
• Work closely with property management and operations partners to investigate variances, reconcile balances, and address accounting questions.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities while analyzing property performance against expectations and prior periods.
• Coordinate documentation and responses for audits, tax-related requests, and lender reporting obligations across assigned entities.
• Recommend and apply process enhancements that improve efficiency, consistency, and accounting controls within the department.
• Assist finance leadership with ad hoc reporting, special initiatives, and other operational priorities as needed.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including direct responsibility for core accounting processes.
• Proven hands-on background in property accounting is required.
• Prior experience in multifamily or broader real estate accounting is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, or mentor accounting staff is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger activity, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting is required.
