Clerk - Retail Sugar Factory

Job Category: Food - Front of House

Full-Time

Rate: $15 USD per hour

Location: Dover, DE 19901, USA

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Takes food and drink orders from customers. Extend a friendly and courteous welcome to every arriving guest.
  • Ensure retail counter is neat and clean and fully stocked at all times. Check pars of retail items and communicate needs to management effectively and timely on a consistent basis.
  • Properly wraps, labels, dates and stores all retail items on their proper stations.
  • Sets up, operates and cleans all retail counter space and equipment. Maintains complete knowledge of correct maintenance and handling of equipment, using only as intended and only after proper training has been demonstrated.
  • Handles all cashiering transactions in accordance with Dover Downs cashiering policies.
  • Prepares all menu items according to specific guidelines.
  • Ensures that trash is emptied regularly.
  • Promotes sale of all retail items and is knowledgeable of menu and retail items.
  • Must be able to project voice across the restaurant floor for all guests to hear and understand.
  • Create and maintain a sense of urgency.
  • Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
  • Respond promptly to customer needs. Solicit customer feedback to improve service.
  • Always address the guest by name when known.
  • Respond well to questions regarding information and events on the property.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and nights as scheduled

Starting Compensation:

Qualifications Experience

Ability to become ABC certified in order to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages. Must be able to successfully pass a background check and receive a lottery license from the DE Lottery. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to use a POS terminal

Preferred

One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
