Job description

Responsible for serving as a strategic partner to senior leaders across White Cap in the development and execution of data-informed strategies aligned with enterprise priorities. Applies structured problem-solving to complex business issues and facilitates timely, high-quality decision-making that enables successful execution of strategic initiatives.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Manages the SMO (Strategy Management Office) initiative portfolio by reviewing workplans, tracking progress against milestones, monitoring KPIs, and identifying performance gaps that require leadership attention.

  • Leads governance and operating rhythm activities, including steering committee meetings, workstream reviews, action-item tracking, and follow-up on key decisions.

  • Identifies program risks, interdependencies, and potential roadblocks.

  • Applies structured problem solving to develop recommendations that enable leadership to make informed decisions and remove barriers to execution.

  • Facilitates execution across multiple functions by coordinating resources, clarifying ownership, and resolving dependencies or bottlenecks.

  • Prepares executive-ready updates, presentations, status reports, and decision materials to support alignment among senior leaders, workstream teams, and stakeholders.

  • Reviews, coaches, and provides guidance on analyses, presentations, and deliverables developed by SMO Analysts and Workstream Leads to ensure quality, consistency, and actionable insights.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope

  • Consults with senior management on solution development for complex strategic and technical business issues. Independently solvesunique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. Assignments are large scope, high impact, high cost, and highimportance.

  • Establishes operational plans for assigned area. Acts as a strategic advisor and uses expert skills to contribute to the development of strategiccompany objectives. Receives general administrative and business direction as needed. Typically operates with broad latitude in a complexenvironment.

  • Guides andmentorsstaff at all levels, provides advice to senior management on complex and strategic issues, and may lead or managecomplex projects with dotted line responsibility.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Program management experience supporting large-scale cross-functional initiatives.

  • Consulting, analytics and/or business operations experience preferred.

  • Proven ability to synthesize data and develop a compelling business case and recommendations to drive decision making across senior stakeholders.

  • Experience partnering with cross-functional leaders in a matrixed environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and communicate clearly with both technical an non-technical stakeholders and influence without authority.

  • Strong problem structuring and analytical skills.

  • Experience developing executive-ready materials.

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis tools.
