About the Job

The Store Operations Manager role is responsible for executing day to day store operations strategies and programs. We are looking for an operational powerhouse to navigate the complex intersection of inventory control, regulatory integrity, and team performance. This position will be responsible for building  a 'fail-proof' retail environment where strict adherence to process fuels our sales growth. You will be the architect of accountability, ensuring that behind every great customer experience is a perfectly managed, meticulously clean, and fully compliant operation.

What You Will Do

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily store operations including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and shift management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and well merchandised store environment, ensuring product is neatly placed with correct signage.
  • Manage employee rest periods and meal breaks according to CA Labor laws.
  • Assign tasks and register assignments on the Daily Schedule.
  • Drive store revenue by setting clear hourly goals for the day and holding the team accountable to performance expectations.
  • Execute company direction on promotional strategies daily to drive traffic and revenue results.
  • Train and develop staff through ongoing coaching, empowerment and performance feedback.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement goals and improvement plans when necessary, under the guidance of the General Manager.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and results-driven store culture that promotes team engagement and supports retention.
  • Lead by example on the salesfloor, actively engaging with customers and supporting the team.
  • Ensure delivery of exceptional customer experiences aligned with brand standards.
  • Resolve customer concerns and escalations professionally and in a timely manner, turning issues into loyalty opportunities.
  • Ensure all employees are adhering to company policies and procedures in accordance with the Company Handbook.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Ensure all store technology is operating efficiently with minimal disruption to customer service experience.  Maintain all POS stations and software systems, BOH systems, debit terminals, Leadership laptops, and Crime Alert monitoring systems and ensure they are operational 100% of the time.  Escalate repairs and submit Jira tickets when necessary.
  • Direct the training and enforcement of all SOPs and store standards in partnership with Compliance and People Operations-from attendance to operational compliance-ensuring teamwide accountability through consistent coaching and performance management.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with Metrc standards are maintained.  Every employee has an individual login and completes their Metrc certification.
  • Perform monthly store compliance audits to check for adherence with state regulatory guidelines.  Create action plans as needed for any corrections and communicate areas of concern and plan to resolve to Compliance.
  • Assist the GM in managing operational expenses such as cash over/shorts, supplies ordering, repairs and maintenance through proper tracking and budgeted spending.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory team to manage the full product lifecycle, ensuring the sales floor is expertly merchandised while enforcing strict storage, FIFO, and aging protocols to minimize waste.
  • Help streamline and make suggestions to  improve the inventory workflow if inefficiencies are identified.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and collaborate to find and present solutions.
  • Drive operational excellence by proposing initiatives that streamline workflows and safeguard the bottom line through error reduction.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Upholds compliance and regulatory requirements at all times; maintains the reputation of the store
  • Ensures product inventory is entered correctly and organized for proper purchasing
  • Protects employees and customers by providing and safe and clean store environment
  • Manager is aware of employee performance and interaction with patients
  • Assigns workers to specific projects such as cleaning or restocking
  • Notify staff of new procedures, policies and regulation updates/changes
  • Create/oversee staff schedules, finding coverage if needed for sick time or personal time off
  • Educate and train staff on all current and new products.
  • Demonstrate ability to speak at a high level about the business.

  • Labor % vs. sales
  • Order receiving time & processing efficiency
  • Meals and breaks policy adherence.
What We Are Looking For
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • 2+ years of retail management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of California Cannabis regulations and compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and drive accountability.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
  • High school or equivalent
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours including mornings, nights, and weekends

    The hourly pay range for this position in the selected city is: $26.00-$32.00. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
