Job description

Job Description Description: Emissions Evaporative Test Engineer Responsibilities include but not limited to: Work as part of a team of engineers, technicians to perform vehicle evaporative emissions testing (Shed, Canister, Running Loss, ORVR Shed) per the federal test procedures and regulations. Submit test requests, gather data, validate test results, and analyze the data to determine if it passes the standards. Troubleshoot equipment and instrumentation to find the root cause and address it in a timely fashion.

Provide feedback to the calibration and development teams about the test results. Perform Quality Checks and Calibration on lab test equipment to satisfy regulatory and internal department requirements. Support integration of new equipment into the test lab.

Coordinate test vehicle instrumentation through various labs. Generate Fuel Tank Temperature Profiles on all new vehicle platforms. Requirements: Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering discipline with relevant experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive testing, preferably experience with Vehicle Evaporative Emissions testing equipment, including analyzers, instrumentation, sampling systems, and data acquisition Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Ability to understand, interpret and analyze data with attention to details Must be a team player with ability to work with diverse group of engineers, supervisors, and UAW personnel Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs and projects simultaneously Analytical skills with a focus on root cause analysis Self-motivated with good communication skills. The engineer must be willing to work overtime, and weekends as needed. Preferred Requirements: Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 5+ years of experience working in a testing lab with vehicle evaporative emissions testing equipment, analyzers, instrumentation, sampling systems, and data acquisition Familiar with evaporative test procedures and regulations per the CFR Prior project management training or experience Additional Must Haves: Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication skills Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs and projects simultaneously.
