Location: Toledo, OH (TOCA Soccer Center)
Reports To: General Manager
Compensation: Competitive hourly pay
Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor (On-Demand / As-Needed)
Schedule: Flexible, event-based (Afternoons, late evenings, and weekends matching special events like MMA fights, tournaments, and leagues)
Age Requirement: Must be 21+ years of age to legally serve alcoholic beverages in the State of Ohio.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a high-energy, reliable Event Concessions & Beer Server to join our Toledo, OH team on an independent contractor (1099) basis. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the game-day vibe during our peak special events, including high-impact MMA fights, tournaments, and weekend leagues.
This is a pure service and hospitality role-there is zero food preparation involved, and you do not need a ServSafe certification. You will primarily be responsible for opening beers, serving pre-packaged or pre-prepared snacks, and delivering premium customer service with a smile. If you love a fast-paced environment, thrive under pressure, and enjoy being part of a buzzing stadium atmosphere, this contract is perfect for you.
Role Scope & Responsibilities:
Alcohol & Beverage Service (60%):
  • Serve alcoholic beverages (predominantly beer) and refreshing drinks to event attendees.
  • Enthusiastically welcome guests and keep queues moving efficiently.

Age Verification & Compliance (20%):
  • Diligently verify legal drinking age (21+) by checking valid identification for all guests purchasing alcohol, adhering strictly to Ohio state liquor laws.

Pre-Packaged Concessions (10%):
  • Serve pre-prepared and packaged concession food items (such as chips, candies, and packaged items). Note: No cooking, raw food handling, or complex food prep is required.

POS & Cash Handling (5%):
  • Process cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently using our digital Point-of-Sale (POS) system.

Station Cleanliness (5%):
  • Keep your immediate bar and concessions zone clean, organized, and stocked with ice, cups, and tasty treats throughout the event.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older to satisfy legal requirements for selling and serving beer/alcohol in Ohio.
  • Previous bartending, event serving, festival concessions, or fast-paced hospitality experience is highly preferred, but not required.
  • No ServSafe certification required. (Familiarity with state-approved alcohol safety awareness training like TIPS or RAMP is a bonus).
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. You must be comfortable working with a high-energy, loud, and enthusiastic crowd (especially during fight nights and sports matches).
  • Proficiency in simple math functions and digital terminal cash handling.
  • Ability to stand for long durations of time on your feet, bend, reach, and safely lift/move beverage cases or supplies weighing 30+ pounds.
  • Independent access to transportation to the Toledo center, with the flexibility to accept on-demand event shifts primarily on Friday nights, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
