Bamboo Nursery Manager at Big Mike's Bamboo

Description:
BIG Mike's Bamboo in Wauchula, FL is looking for one bamboo nursery manager to join our team.. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and engaged.

Benefits

  • We are a working 20 acre Bamboo Farm and nursery. We grow bamboo for food, building material, landscaping and decoration.
  • We are currently working on making Big Mike's Bamboo a venue and eco/ agro retreat destination.
  • We have Cattle, Goats, Emus, Chickens, Ducks, and Bees

Responsibilities

  • Propagating, tending and harvesting Bamboo and other plants and trees.
  • Encouraging retail sales, and keeping inventory.
  • Setting up irrigation and ensuring irrigation system is functioning properly and crops are watered regularly.
  • Maintenance of the plants, which often includes weeding, pruning, and watering.
  • General farm responsibilities.
  • Building small accommodations for camping guests and visitors.
  • Looking after livestock, including feeding, watering, pen/pasture rotation & management,


Qualifications

  • GREEN THUMB
  • General nursery or farm knowledge.
  • Knowledge of propagation, management, cultivation and harvesting.
  • Experience with bamboo is a plus
  • Farm equipment use, general maintenance, and repair.
