Job description

As an Electrical - Project Engineer, you will provide design and maintenance support for equipment, facilities, and manufacturing processes for all Paulo facilities. This includes the ongoing evaluation and upgrading of existing equipment and facilities as well as the design and development of new equipment to meet Company and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve daily equipment-related issues to ensure continuous and efficient operation.
  • Evaluate equipment and processes to define requirements, taking into account functionality, reliability, maintainability, cost-effectiveness, and safety standards.
  • Design and develop new systems and equipment, including control panels, PLC programming, SCADA, HMI, and historical data collection. Oversee all phases of fabrication and installation of these controls systems.
  • Plan and manage engineering projects and ongoing initiatives, including equipment specification, procurement, regulatory compliance, and successful installation.
  • Design and implement enhancements to existing systems, such as heat treatment, plating, and material handling equipment, to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Lead the commissioning of new equipment and processes, addressing issues during start-up and establishing stable operating parameters.
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, including mechanical, electrical, electronic, and architectural AutoCAD drawings for buildings and equipment.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, user manuals, and training materials to support the operation and maintenance of production equipment across the organization.
  • Procure materials and components necessary for engineering department initiatives, particularly for the fabrication of new equipment.

Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar or related role preferred.
  • Must have strong knowledge of electrical power/control systems, mechanical systems and their design and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to obtain a passport and travel internationally.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Experience programming and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and ABB Variable Frequency Drives (ABB VFDs).
  • Robotics programming experience preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen, this includes THC.

License(s)/Certification(s) Required:

  • Valid drivers license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record in compliance with Paulo's Vehicle Use Policy.
