A little bit about our team:
The U.S. Shared Services organization is based in WMG's Center of Excellence for Shared Services. The Center consists of five departments: Analysis, Finance, Legal, Licensing, and Reporting. Employees of the Center provide
services to all of WMG's U.S. and LATAM record labels, Warner Chappell Music Publishing, WEA Corp. and Alternative Distribution Alliance (WMG's distribution companies), and WMG's other U.S. business units. The Finance Department will be responsible for managing all the center's accounting and cash management functions. As a critical component of the Finance department, the Accounting Operations Group will provide accounting services and support to WMG's LATAM Recorded Music and Music Publishing businesses.

Your role:
The Accounting Manager for Accounting is responsible for overseeing the monthly close process and all aspects of Revenue and Royalty accounting for WMG LATAM businesses. They will liaise with internal and external auditors to
ensure compliance with SOX requirements as well as managing and developing a team of offshore and on-shore Accountants.

Here you'll get to:

  • Manage the monthly close process including analysis, general ledger entries, and reconciliation review, with a focus on Revenue and Royalty related functions for our LATAM businesses.
  • Support recorded music label finance and Music Publishing finance by answering questions and performing ad hoc requests around Revenue and Royalty related activities.
  • Act as Liaison between SSC and Local finance teams in LATAM countries
  • Work with team to complete submission to corporate and review of related schedules in submitted conjunction with the monthly/quarterly financials
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, and ensure compliance with SOX requirements including drafting and updating process narratives, and maintenance of requirement documentation
  • Maintain strong relationships with finance personnel of affiliates/business units, internal/external auditors, 3rd party vendors, as well as other divisions within WMG
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks and special projects as required by Division and/or Directors
  • Manage, coach, and develop team members both onshore and offshore

About you:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Experience in a management capacity leading month end close in a shared services environment
  • Shared Services mindset: drive efficiency, standardize processes, across different LATAM territories, and meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Experience managing onshore and offshore teams
  • Experience with Revenue and Royalty accounting, understanding of ASC 606
  • BA/BS in Accounting/Finance
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • SAP S4 Experience
  • Excellent Excel/Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills needed in interacting with internal/external parties
  • Detail oriented and ability to work under pressure/tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills in reviewing accounting transactions

We'd love it if you also had:

  • CPA a plus and Masters of accounting a plus
  • Royalty Systems experience a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial audit, preferably with Big 4 and private industry
  • Industry knowledge a plus
  • Bilingual in Portuguese a plus
