As a Business Development Manager III within PNC's Financial Wellness Solutions organization, you will be based in the Midwest Territory.
PNC Financial Wellness Solutions offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to support the financial needs of businesses and their employees. As a Business Development Manager, you will drive new client acquisition and solution expansion by delivering financial wellness offerings aligned to complex organizational needs.
This role is primarily focused on supporting the Relationship Manager (RM) book of business, working with assigned Relationship Managers to pursue opportunities with existing clients and targeted prospects within the Large Corporate, Diversified Industries Group (DIG), and Financial Institutions Group (FIG) segments. You will identify, qualify, and advance opportunities using a consultative sales approach, leading efforts from initial engagement through close.
You will position differentiated financial wellness solutions-including health and benefit accounts, student debt solution, earned wage access, and other workforce financial wellness capabilities-to senior decisionmakers and key stakeholders. The role includes closing new business and expanding existing client relationships in partnership with internal teams.
The Business Development Manager will also build market presence through professional networking and collaboration with Centers of Influence (COIs), brokers, and strategic partners to support opportunity development and pipeline growth.
This role requires travel within the supported territory to meet with Relationship Managers, clients, prospects, and partners.
Preferred experience includes origination and closing of new business within one or more of the following sectors: professional services, manufacturing, healthcare, wholesale, or general services.

  • Sets client acquisition strategies and directs new client sales activities across financial wellness solutions. Emphasis is on growing sales, revenue and market share with relevant sales goals. Typically works with clients with advanced levels of risk and complexity of needs. Works independently and may mentor other team members.
  • Creates and drives strategy to acquire and/or expand and retain client relationships to generate revenue and deepen share of wallet. Handles the origination, financial analysis, negotiation and documentation of non-credit products and services.
  • Manages risk/return and drives quality for new and/or existing clients. Actively identifies and mitigates different types of risk, such as regulatory, reputational, and operational risks.
  • Focuses on client opportunities by providing ideas and insights based on an understanding of the client's needs and their financial well-being. Drives client engagement and loyalty through strategic dialogue and opportunity quantification. Generates ideas and best practices within financial wellness solutions and may mentor others.
  • Manages effective network of senior internal and external relationships, such as community or industry relationships, to actively acquire new clients and/or expand existing clients and enhance the client experience. Focuses on bringing entire bank to the client by presenting the full range of PNC's products and services. Leverages reporting and sales tools to proactively identify and successfully convert sales opportunities.
