Module Fabrication Yard Project Manager - Tarpon Specialty Services Primary Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Assume full responsibility for assigned modular fabrication projects from handoff through project closeout

  • Develop and execute project execution plans aligned with contract requirements and company objectives

  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and establish clear priorities and accountability

  • Maintain ownership of project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk

Client Management

  • Serve as the primary client interface throughout project execution

  • Lead regular progress meetings and provide accurate reporting on project status

  • Build long-term client relationships through responsive communication and successful project delivery

  • Negotiate scope changes and manage change orders

Safety Leadership

  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the fabrication yard

  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and customer-specific requirements

  • Participate in safety observations, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives

Schedule Management

  • Develop and maintain integrated fabrication schedules

  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, fabrication, coatings, mechanical completion, testing, and loadout activities

  • Identify schedule risks early and implement recovery plans when necessary

  • Monitor critical path activities and production milestones

Cost & Commercial Management

  • Manage project budgets and financial performance

  • Review labor productivity, equipment utilization, subcontract costs, and material expenditures

  • Forecast monthly revenue, cost-to-complete, and project margin

  • Ensure accurate billing milestones and support timely invoicing

Engineering Coordination

  • Coordinate engineering deliverables with internal and external engineering teams

  • Ensure drawings, fabrication packages, and revisions are issued in support of production schedules

  • Resolve technical issues affecting fabrication

Procurement & Materials

  • Coordinate material procurement and delivery with purchasing

  • Monitor critical equipment and long-lead material status

  • Work with warehouse and material management teams to ensure efficient material flow

Fabrication Management

  • Coordinate fabrication activities across structural steel, piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, coatings, insulation, and testing

  • Monitor productivity and resource loading

  • Resolve production constraints that impact schedule or cost

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and customer requirements

  • Support inspections, audits, and client witness activities

  • Drive timely resolution of NCRs and punch list items

Logistics & Module Delivery

  • Coordinate heavy haul, loadout, marine transportation, and site delivery requirements

  • Ensure modules are prepared for shipment in accordance with transportation plans

  • Coordinate preservation and shipping documentation

Risk Management

  • Identify commercial, technical, operational, and schedule risks

  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans

  • Maintain project risk registers

Team Development

  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers

  • Foster collaboration between construction, engineering, procurement, and support departments

  • Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred

  • Equivalent industrial construction experience will be considered

  • 8+ years of industrial construction, fabrication, or EPC project management experience

  • Experience managing large modular fabrication or heavy industrial projects preferred

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Structural steel fabrication

    • Pipe fabrication and installation

    • Mechanical equipment installation

    • Electrical and instrumentation systems

    • Industrial coatings

    • Heavy haul and module transportation

Preferred Experience

Experience with one or more of the following industries:

  • LNG

  • Petrochemical
