The hiring range is $116,101 - $129,001 / annually.
Join our dynamic team as a Risk Manager and play a pivotal role in enhancing the safety and well-being of our City! In this key position, you'll lead and manage our comprehensive risk management program, overseeing liability and property claims while collaborating with insurers to ensure our projects are safeguarded. You'll have the opportunity to develop and implement innovative safety and loss control programs, conduct thorough reviews of City contracts, and manage workers' compensation effectively.
As the subject-matter expert, you'll provide vital guidance to department leaders and staff on risk management strategies and on crafting and revising policies that protect our community. Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in business administration or management, the social sciences, public administration, or other related program; and Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in managing risk management functions, that includes at least two (2) years of work experience in a lead or supervisory role; or
An associate degree in business administration or management, the social sciences, public administration, or other related program; and Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in managing risk management functions, that includes at least two (2) years of work experience in a lead or supervisory role; or
A high school diploma or equivalent and (8) eight years of progressively responsible experience in managing risk management functions, that includes at least two (2) years of work experience in a lead or supervisory role
Associate in risk management (ARM), Chartered Property Causality Underwriter (CPCU), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is preferred but not required

  • Recreation Center Membership: Employees and family members are eligible for a membership to the Commerce City Recreation Center for $5.00 per person per year.
  • Golf Course Green Fees: Employees can play the City's award-winning Buffalo Run Golf Course at a rate of $9.00 for 9-holes or $18.00 for 18-holes. Employees can also purchase golf merchandise at discounted prices.
