The Manager Retail Investments Acquisition & Growth portfolio, owning strategies that drive new customer acquisition, investment growth, and customer onboarding across Retail Banking, InvestorLine, and wealth channels. Accountable for developing and executing acquisition strategies, seasonal campaigns, always-on growth programs, customer journey enhancements, segment strategies, and cross-channel sales activation initiatives that accelerate investment growth and improve customer outcomes. Acts as the single-threaded business owner for acquisition, aligning partners across the organization to deliver growth objectives.

Scope of Ownership

  • Drive acquisition through seasonal campaigns and always-on growth programs.
  • Build and enhance new "Start Your Investing Journey" experiences and entry-point journeys.
  • Drive investment cross-sell in partner journeys across Retail Banking, InvestorLine, and related channels.
  • Influence segment offer strategy across mass affluent, high-frequency investors, emerging investors, and other priority customer groups.
  • Advance "One Client" outcomes by ensuring Retail Investments and InvestorLine are represented appropriately in customer journeys.

Key Accountabilities

Strategy & Growth Leadership

  • Define and execute the Retail Investments acquisition strategy to drive customer growth across branches, digital channels, and partner journeys.
  • Own acquisition-related business outcomes including sales growth, account openings, funded accounts, customer acquisition, and investment penetration.
  • Identify growth opportunities through customer, channel, and market analysis.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps to increase participation in investing and expand customer relationships.
  • Lead acquisition planning for seasonal campaigns and always-on growth initiatives.

Campaign & Offer Strategy

  • Lead the development and optimization of acquisition campaigns, offers, and customer value propositions.
  • Partner with Marketing and Analytics to identify acquisition opportunities, target audiences, and growth segments.
  • Influence segment offer strategies across priority customer groups.
  • Use portfolio performance and market insights to recommend enhancements to campaigns and acquisition programs.
  • Establish measurement frameworks and success metrics for growth initiatives.

Customer Journey Ownership

  • Lead the design and optimization of end-to-end investment acquisition journeys.
  • Identify customer friction points and opportunities to improve conversion, activation, and onboarding.
  • Build and enhance investment entry-point journeys, including "Start Your Investing Journey" experiences.
  • Champion customer-centric innovation that improves engagement and accelerates growth.

Channel & Partner Leadership

  • Drive investment acquisition through partner channels and integrated customer journeys.
  • Lead "One Client" initiatives that connect Retail Investments and InvestorLine solutions to relevant customer interactions.
  • Align sales, product, marketing, digital, analytics, and wealth partners around growth objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction and consultation to senior stakeholders regarding acquisition opportunities and performance.

Performance Management

  • Monitor acquisition performance, sales results, conversion metrics, and growth outcomes.
  • Use data and analytics to identify performance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and present executive-level performance insights and recommendations.
  • Establish forecasts and growth plans to support delivery against business objectives.

Governance & Risk

  • Ensure acquisition programs, campaigns, and offers comply with regulatory, risk, and operational requirements.
  • Identify emerging risks and work with partners to implement appropriate controls.
  • Support governance, reporting, and compliance activities related to acquisition initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Typically 3-5 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience developing growth, acquisition, marketing, sales, product, or customer strategy in a financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of retail investments, wealth management, customer growth, sales channels, and/or digital customer journeys.
  • Advanced analytical capability with experience translating data, customer insights, and performance trends into strategic recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage competing priorities, and influence partners without direct authority.

Salary:

$75,900.00 - $141,900.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
