Job description


As a Retail Area Manager for Verizon products at Best Buy, you'll support and coordinate the Verizon sales team members in select locations. You'll be responsible for hiring, training, developing, coaching and supporting up to 25 people across a multi-state territory. You'll coordinate with store leadership to support the activities, training and engagement of your sales team. In this role, you'll become a mobile subject matter expert and use your knowledge to support and evaluate direct reports' effectiveness.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at a store in the West Texas and New Mexico area, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you'll do
  • Lead the team to meet key performance indicator (KPI) goals
  • Facilitate the hiring process including posting roles and interviewing
  • Host team calls and meetings on a regular cadence
  • Share best practices across direct reports, peers and corporate support
  • Attend off-site multi-day training as needed
  • Support program reporting requirements

Basic qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • One year of supervisor experience
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service or related field
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays, nights and weekends

Preferred qualifications
  • One year of consumer electronics industry experience
  • Prior experience setting retail sales goals
  • Proven leadership acumen
  • Group training experience, both in-person and virtually
