REO Escrow Officer (Texas)
Support Hours: 9:30-6pm EST

Department: Closing Operations
Reports To: Branch Manager
Location: Office-Based or Remote (as applicable)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly Position
As a REO Escrow Officer, you’ll play a critical role in clearing the path for successful real estate transactions. You will guide the client, buyer, real estate agents, and lenders through the settlement process until the loan is closed. You’ll leverage your deep understanding of closing processes to deliver rock-solid performance. What You’ll Do:
  • Thoroughly review title commitments to confirm accuracy of vesting and coordinate with title examiners, processors, lenders, and outside parties to obtain necessary clearances, updates, or endorsements to ensure the file is fully cleared and ready for settlement.
  • Receive and Review Purchase amp; Sales Contract
  • Send Welcome Email to all parties
  • Receive EMD and provide receipt
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external parties (asset management, foreclosure, legal, buyers, agents, title companies).
  • Scheduling: Assign a preferred notary to the signing appointment and provide the customer with direct contact to the notary professional.
  • Request conveyance document; QC upon receipt and coordinate Seller’s signature.
  • CD/Settlement Statement: Prepare the CD/Settlement Statement in accordance with the lender’s terms and conditions, confirming title and recording fees are accurately reflected.
  • Confirm status of taxes and any payoffs required at closing
  • Quality Control: Ensure the Lender’s package is correct, deliver closing package to notary via secure portal
  • Pre-Closing Call: Conduct a pre-closing call to the notary and Buyer to confirm appointment and answer any questions.
  • Confirm closing: Confirm closing appointment
  • Review: Review signed closing package and partner with the notary for any corrections.
  • Ensure timely disbursement
  • Process emails and respond to all incoming requests in a timely manner.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and service
  • Update third-party systems with accurate REO transaction data.
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date records in the closing production system, documenting all actions and communications.
  • Escalate complex issues to management or for resolution guidance.
  • Consistently meet established service level agreements (SLAs), quality standards, and internal performance metrics.
  • Assist with closing production improvements and participate in training new specialists as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned. Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines or close transactions.
What You Need:
  • 5+ years of experience in a REO closing role, familiar with Gov’t transactions a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of closing process and requirements for a complete closing for each product, by state.
  • Experience with Resware, Equator, Res.net and Pyramid software is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Team Player: Positive attitude and strong sense of customer service and collaboration.
