Job description

As a mid accounting and financial reporting specialist on the Statutory Reporting team, you’ll handle a range of statutory financial reporting tasks, from moderate to highly complex. In this role, you'll prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and company close analysis. You'll monitor accounting and financial reporting changes and maintain compliance with internal SOX controls and state insurance department requirements. You'll also partner with various departments and business units, providing expertise to internal and external customers and reviewing items of high importance and materiality.

This is a hybrid role, requiring work from our headquarters in Mayfield Village, OH.

Must-have qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study (e.g. Finance) and a minimum of 2 years of accounting work experience.

Preferred skills

  • At least 3-5 years of experience with GAAP and/or statutory accounting principles and reporting.
  • Experience with financial statement analysis, month-end closing, and account reconciliations.
  • Excellent communication, including verbal, written, listening, and presentation, as well as organizational skills like planning, time management, and prioritizing.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills; ability to identify and communicate accounting and financial reporting issues to management quickly.
  • Highly proficient and comfortable using Excel extensively.

Compensation

  • $61,300-$81,700/year
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive program up to 24% of your eligible earnings, based on company performance.
