Job description

Weโ€™re looking for a Digital Marketing Manager to join our growing team and help lead multi-channel digital marketing and fundraising programs for our mission-driven clients. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, hands-on marketer who can confidently guide clients, collaborate across internal teams, and drive performance across email fundraising, digital advertising, and integrated campaigns.

Interactive Strategies is a full-service digital agency in Washington, DC, known for its work with top nonprofits like American Kidney Fund, Special Olympics, Greenpeace, Rainforest Trust, and the American Lung Association. Clients choose us for our innovation, creative energy, and results-focused approach.

In this role, you will support national organizations making a differenceโ€”helping them grow their email audiences, raise more money from email and digital campaigns, and strengthen supporter engagement. You will work across digital channels, think holistically about strategy, and contribute to mentoring and strengthening our internal marketing team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day lead for assigned client accounts, ensuring strong relationships and proactive communication.
  • Develop integrated digital strategies across email fundraising, paid media, sms, and other digital channels.
  • Lead client conversations, present recommendations, and translate goals into actionable plans for internal teams.
  • Plan and execute creative, conversion-focused campaigns across channels, with a focus on email fundraising.
  • Collaborate with design, content, development, and advertising teams to deliver cohesive, high-quality work.
  • Support email production, including planning, drafting, segmentation, testing, and performance optimization.
  • Work with the advertising team to plan and optimize campaigns across paid social, search, programmatic, and connected TV.
  • Conduct audits of clientsโ€™ digital programs to assess performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Track and analyze performance across channels, providing clear insights and recommendations to improve ROI.
  • Prepare client-ready reporting and performance summaries.
  • Stay current on digital marketing trends, platforms, and testing opportunities.
  • Contribute to internal process improvements, documentation, and marketing team standards.
  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of digital marketing and/or digital fundraising experience (agency experience a plus but not required).
  • Experience creating effective conversion-driven strategies and campaigns that map marketing activities to steps in the user journey/funnel.
  • Proven experience planning and deploying results-driven email marketing campaigns with some working knowledge of HTML/CSS.
  • Experience working within a variety of email marketing and advertising platforms. Extra credit for experience in Engaging Networks, EveryAction (Bonterra), and FundraiseUp.
  • Moderate understanding of digital advertising channels and how they can work together and with other digital channels to accomplish a variety of goals and conversion objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
  • Experience with reporting analysis and website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, etc.).
  • Experience conducting digital marketing audits, providing detailed analysis and creating effective strategies based on data findings.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing.
  • We are open to this being a remote position.

Qualities you bring to the table

  • Curious. You have a deep commitment to finding answers, learning new things and solving problems.
  • Creative. You bring passion to your work and produce content that engages, motivates and inspires.
  • Strategic. You understand that a strong digital marketing campaign is rooted in a combination of thoughtful storytelling and urgency.
  • Intuitive. You\'re someone with that canny ability to always think one step ahead and see where the world is headed.
  • Committed. Youโ€™re committed to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Confident. You\'re friendly, professional and poised, whether you\'re brainstorming with our team or making client presentations.
  • Passionate. You love what you do, give everything you\'ve got and are continually seeking ways to grow in your craft.
  • Friendly. You work well with the team and appreciate feedback. You contribute ideas in a positive manner. Youโ€™re also a great listener.

We have a simple motto when it comes to company culture, "Everyone deserves to come to work and be happy." This means a few things: (1) we care as much about the quality of your experience as we do about budgets, (2) we find the strengths in each employee and nurture them, (3) we encourage a culture that values innovation and creative freedom, and (4) we want you to have fun while youโ€™re at the office. We may be an agency, but we understand that you have a life outside of work.

We allow our employees creative freedom. We treat them with respect. We value their opinions. In that spirit, we offer the following benefits:

  • Company-sponsored health, vision and dental insurance
  • Pre-tax Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Profit sharing
  • 4 weeks of vacation/sick time from day one; 5+ weeks at year 3

  • Company-paid life and AD&D insurance
  • 11 paid holidays
  • 401k with company match
  • New business referral bonus
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Pre-tax DC Metro SmartBenefits

Salary Range

$70,000 - $87,550 (commensurate with experience)
