This is an in-office position for hire at Inspired Flight's HQ in San Luis Obispo, CA.


Job Description

Inspired Flight is looking for an experienced Warehouse & Facilities Manager to lead all warehouse operations and oversee the maintenance and management of our 45,000 sq ft facility. This role owns shipping, receiving, inventory control, and the physical environment that supports our operations - ensuring the building, equipment, and teams run safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company goals.

Typical Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations

  • Oversee all inbound and outbound logistics, including accurate and timely shipping and receiving of inventory and expense items
  • Manage receiving inspection processes and work to implement dock-to-stock programs
  • Ensure accurate put-away and picking of materials; develop and maintain kitting and picking processes that meet production and customer requirements
  • Maintain accurate inventory records with emphasis on appropriate stock levels, identification of excess and obsolete materials, and resolution of inventory discrepancies
  • Manage inventory turns in accordance with company goals and continuously work to improve accuracy and reduce adjustments
  • Develop and maintain processes to achieve and sustain data integrity across warehouse systems
  • Manage and maintain warehouse physical and system structure, including slotting, labeling, and layout


Facilities Management

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the 47,000 sq ft facility, including preventive and reactive maintenance of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, dock equipment)
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs, inspections, and capital improvement projects
  • Ensure the facility meets all safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, fire code, etc.)
  • Manage facility budgets, service contracts, and equipment maintenance schedules
  • Lead safety programs and conduct regular walkthroughs to identify and address hazards
  • Oversee janitorial, security, and other facilities service providers


Team Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and develop warehouse staff including Receivers, Warehouse Leads, Material Handlers, and Inventory Control Coordinators
  • Set clear goals and expectations; conduct regular performance reviews and provide timely feedback
  • Address employee issues with appropriate documentation and follow-through
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Interface with purchasing, planning, finance, and operations to ensure alignment on priorities and material flow
  • Represent the warehouse and facilities functions on continuous improvement project teams
  • Use lean and CI tools to eliminate waste, improve throughput, and reduce costs
  • Review and update applicable work instructions, SOPs, and department policies


Education/Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience required
  • Experience managing a large facility (30,000+ sq ft) preferred
  • Experience leading or supporting a facility relocation - including coordinating the move-in process while maintaining continuity of standard operations - is a strong plus
  • Strong ERP systems experience and proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Solid understanding of inventory management principles, including cycle counting, FIFO, and stock optimization
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and general facilities compliance requirements
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations, supply chain, or related field preferred - equivalent experience considered
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb a ladder up to 15 ft, and be on the floor for the majority of the shift
