FUNCTION â€" SCOPESTATEMENT:
Responsible for writingcompelling letters of intent and grant proposals to private foundations andcorporations as well as key components of public fundraising and governmentrelations. Research foundation, government, and corporate funding prospects;develop and write grant proposals; manage government funding applicationprocess; track and acknowledge grants; gather data and write stewardship andmetrics reports for donors; and provide direct support to the Development Teamas needed.
MAJOR JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Generate a significant portion of a $3 to $4 millionfoundation /corporation fundraising goal from institutional sources on anannual basis.
• Manage a portfolio of institutional prospects whileresearching and identifying new potential funding sources, both local andnational; present new prospects and suggest next steps.
• Assist with cultivation of prospective institutionaldonors, serve as prospect manager for portfolio of donors.
• Write, submit, and track grant proposals and reports in Grant Hub, managingdeadlines for the Corporate and Foundations Team. Manage restricted andunrestricted grant proposals. Assist with compiling information for and writingLOIs and proposals for larger grants as needed.
• Become content expert on BGCGH programs and expectedoutcomes. Continuously maintain updated, accurate, high-quality boilerplateproposal language and general information bank for use by Team and others.
• Work closely with Programs /Operations team to developmeaningful grant proposals, track outcomes, and report on grant results.Communicate reporting requirements to Development, Operations, Finance and Clubstaff in a timely manner.
• Work closely with Finance team to develop budgets forproposals, anticipating reporting requirements throughout the grant period.
• Provide exceptional stewardship to institutional donors,beyond required reporting, including the development and implementation ofregular stewardship mailings, site visits and other stewardship activities.
• Update fundraising database (Raiserâ€'s Edge) with relevantdonor information and track proposals and actions.
• Manage communication with Finance and Operations staff toensure fulfillment of grant expectations and reporting requirements.
• Maintain ongoing communication with Clubs, actively supportstaff in local grant writing efforts, identify new funding opportunities, andtracking in Raiserâ€'s Edge.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Club activities,programs and outcomes.
• Assist with events managed by Development team, and otherevents as needed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelorâ€'s degree from an accredited college oruniversity.
• A minimum of 4-6 years of grant writing experienceincluding proposal, report, and budget development.
• Proven track record of raising $1M+ annually.
• Knowledge of and experience with greater Houston areafoundations, public funding and government resources, and institutional donorcultivation/stewardship.
• Excellent written communication skills and strong verbalcommunication skills
• Willingness to accept constructive feedback during draftphase of proposal
• Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects, andpay attention to detail is critical
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect withstaff across diverse functions, including Finance, Operations, and directservice
• Capacity to work well independently and take initiativeas well as to collaborate with colleagues and work as a team
• Flexibility â€" candidate should be willing and able toadapt to new and evolving organizational and funding priorities and to workoccasional evenings as events and project deadlines dictate

RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact withthe Club management to exchange information, seek and give assistance,consultation and direction. Maintaincontact with financial staff and support staff. Maintain written and verbal contact with volunteers and donors.
External:Maintain contact withcorporate leaders, community, board members, donors, volunteers, vendors andthe public to seek financial support and provide information regarding clubactivities and needs.
