The Role:

The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing quality control of all finished products produced within the factory. 

This position will lead a cross functional team of 4-6 people to include: chemistry technologist, quality engineers, and quality inspectors to identify, prioritize, and solve quality issues across the business along with developing defect prevention strategies and techniques to ensure we ship customers products meeting their expectation. 

This role will collaborate primarily with the operations management and R&D teams to develop and lead product and manufacturing related quality improvements. 

What You Will Do:

  • Manage assigned team members in performance of their duties to include work direction, performance management, training, and career development coaching
  • Establish and monitor individual and team goals which are aligned with the organization’s business strategies and objectives and ensure the department is properly serving its internal and external customers and meeting defined expectations.
  • Manage quality control of finished products per organizational and customer requirements
  • Utilize existing data and systems to identify and improve quality performance
  • Lead investigations with material suppliers to identify root cause(s) and corrective action(s)
  • Lead investigations pertaining to field complaints and serve as the main customer contact 
  • Develop sustainable quality initiatives to drive compliance from suppliers and Operations
  • Identify and recommend process changes to address issues and lead quality training.
  • Maintain files of all executed quality related documents (Batch Records, NCR, C of A, etc.) in accordance with cGMPs. 
  • Conduct internal audits of quality control practices to ensure that employees are following procedures correctly

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions and the ability to teach others
  • Expertise with basic manufacturing quality related topics/processes to include: DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Cause and Effect Analysis. 
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities to produce accurate, professional, and error-free documents on a timely basis.
  • Experience developing and implementing quality control procedures with a factory operation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Cross functional experience in Operations Management, Process or Manufacturing Engineer or other related disciplines related to manufacturing is a plus
  • Experience using and/or implementing lean manufacturing principles and using Lean Sigma/Six Sigma methodology to improve quality is a plus.
