The position requires fostering strong relationships, promoting accountability, and supporting continuous improvement while adhering to ethical standards and company policies. The manager also provides guidance and development opportunities to team members, driving a high-performing environment focused on achieving results and enhancing the overall customer and associate experience.
About the team:
The FM Fire Team leads the strategy, vendor management, and daily operations of Walmart’s fire life-safety program across more than 5,000 stores. Managing a national network of over 35 specialized vendors, the team oversees fire suppression systems, pumps, and extinguishers. They prioritize emergency work orders, monitor service levels, mitigate risks, and manage vendor performance while collaborating with store operations and regulatory authorities. Their efforts ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in program efficiency, maintaining high standards that protect associates and customers throughout the retail network.
What you'll do:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders to ensure alignment on requirements and objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess costs, establish return on investment, and secure management approval for resources.
  • Create and execute communication plans detailing status updates, frequency, and distribution to relevant parties.
  • Manage multiple projects by developing and communicating detailed project plans and schedules to teams and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and milestones, identifying and escalating changes as needed.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts and promote adherence to project management standards and ethical conduct.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring, and development opportunities for associates to build accountability and achieve results.
