As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the successful execution of high-profile projects by coordinating project documentation, schedules, reporting, communication, and engineering activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional looking to advance into project management while working alongside experienced industry leaders.
Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager supports the Program Project Manager in coordinating the daily management activities necessary for the successful delivery of electrical construction projects. This role provides leadership for project support functions including documentation management, progress tracking, reporting, project engineering coordination, scheduling support, and communication across multiple project teams. Working closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, this position ensures project information is accurate, organized, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle while supporting successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Program Project Manager with daily coordination of project activities from planning through project completion.
  • Lead and coordinate Project Engineering activities, including field progress tracking, quality reporting, and installation performance measurement.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, transmittals, meeting minutes, correspondence, and document control.
  • Maintain accurate project records while ensuring compliance with company and client documentation standards.
  • Coordinate project data collection, validation, and reporting for scheduling, forecasting, budgeting, and executive reporting.
  • Assist with project scheduling, milestone tracking, progress reporting, and schedule updates.
  • Support labor tracking, project reporting, document management, and administrative processes.
  • Coordinate project meetings, agendas, meeting minutes, and action items.
  • Assist with project controls, cost reporting, forecasting, and performance measurement.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Support project closeout activities and final documentation packages.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Experience
  • 5-8 years of experience in construction project management, project engineering, electrical construction, or project support.
  • Experience supporting commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction projects preferred.
  • Experience coordinating project engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with document control, RFIs, submittals, project reporting, and meeting coordination.
  • Experience supporting project controls, scheduling, labor tracking, cost reporting, and forecasting.

Skills
  • Strong knowledge of construction project management processes and project controls.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using project management and document control software.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education & Certifications
