Job Description
The Project Controls Manager will support and lead project controls functions across integrated design and construction projects within our advanced facilities portfolio. This role partners closely with design, engineering, and construction leadership to provide cost, schedule, forecasting, and performance visibility throughout the full project lifecycle - from early design through construction closeout.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background supporting technically complex projects, understands how project controls evolve from design into execution, and can drive predictable outcomes through data-driven insights.
Responsibilities
  • Lead project controls activities across both design-phase and construction-phase projects, including cost control, scheduling, forecasting, and performance reporting
  • Develop, manage, and maintain project budgets, cost-loaded schedules, and cash flow forecasts from early design through construction
  • Support design-phase cost modeling, schedule development, and scope validation in partnership with engineering and estimating teams
  • Oversee change management across design development and construction execution, including trend logs, change estimates, and impact analysis
  • Provide regular project performance and forecast reporting to Project Directors, leadership, and clients
  • Identify cost, schedule, and execution risks and mitigation strategies across design development and field execution
  • Ensure alignment with CRB project controls standards, tools, and reporting templates
  • Support baseline development, earned value analysis, progress measurement, and productivity tracking
  • Collaborate with estimating, procurement, contracting, engineering, and construction teams throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Mentor and support project controls staff, cost engineers, and analysts as needed
  • Participate in internal and client-facing meetings representing CRB's project controls expertise

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project controls, cost management, or project management within a construction, EPC, or design-build environment
  • Experience supporting GMP-regulated or highly technical Life Science design and/or construction
  • Demonstrated experience supporting both design and construction phases of complex projects
  • Strong understanding of cost control, scheduling (Primavera P6 or similar), forecasting, and earned value management
  • Experience working in design-build, integrated EPC, or engineer-led project delivery models
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and project controls software/tools
    • Strong financial acumen and ability to translate project data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, construction, and leadership teams
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, technically complex project environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Background working in an engineer-led organization
  • Prior experience mentoring or leading a project controls or cost management team
